Here are the answers to frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum order for take home meals?
No, there is no minimum order for take home meals. For canapes, savoury & sweet, a minimum of 15 pieces per variety is required. This is because we make everything fresh to order.
Do you use artificial additives, flavour enhancers or preservatives?
NO, NEVER!! We only use fresh ingredients, and locally source as much as possible.
Can I order meals if I don’t have access to the internet?
Yes. Just call Janey B’s to discuss your needs.
Do you cater for special dietary needs?
We cater for many dietary needs including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, Paleo, etc. We take all care possible but cannot guarantee that all foods/meals are free from allergens, nuts, gluten etc, as they are all prepared in the same kitchen.
What if I need to cancel my order?
We require 24 hours notice for cancellation of take home meals.
If you cancel on the day of your catering we will do our best to accommodate your cancellation, however if meals have already been prepared you will be charged the full price.
With regards to catering for events we must receive written notification of cancellation a minimum of seven (7) working days prior to the function date. Your deposit is retained in the event cancellation occurs within seven (7) working days of the function date.
Will you send disposable cutlery, plates and napkins with my order?
In an effort to reduce wastage and save the environment, we will not supply cutlery, plates and napkins with you order. Please let us know if you do need them and we will be happy to help you out. Napkins are complimentary, cutlery and plates are charged at $1.00 per person.
Homemade Meals FAQ’s
Do you delivery your take home meals?
Unfortunately at this stage all take home meals are only available for pick up from our shop in Dromana. We hope to be able to extend our service to include delivery in the future, so stay tuned!
How long will my meals last in the fridge and/or freezer?
All take home meals are prepared fresh on the day of pick up. If taken directly home and refrigerated, salads and meals not suited to freeze will last up to 4 days. Many of the meals can be frozen and will last in the freezer for 3-6 months.
Grazing Table FAQ’s
Can I select what goes on my grazing table, platter or in my grazing box?
Yes you can definitely make special requests. We will always try our hardest to accommodate your request.
Can I add extra items to my grazing table?
Yes you certainly can. Janey B’s is very flexible. There are options to add canapes, substantial canapes, desserts from our menu or add your own request.
Can I use my own table, platter, board, bowls, etc.?
Yes you may. Please feel free to have us make up your order on your favourite table, platter or board and to bring your favourite bowls to be filled with homemade dips, salads or desserts.
What is your cut off time for ordering?
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for Platters and Hamper Boxes, and it may also depend on the orders we already have for your requested date/time during peak seasons. Larger orders for catering, canapes, desserts, grazing tables and cakes need to be placed at least seven (7) days prior to your event.
Do you accept late orders on the day of catering?
Janey B’s will always do what they can to help you out of a sticky situation with a late order. If we are not heavily booked and have the necessary produce on hand we will do what we can to accommodate your order. Please just phone us to discuss.
Do I need to secure my order with a deposit?
Janey B’s requires a 50% deposit at least 7 days prior to your event. This secures your booking.
Cakes & Desserts FAQ’s
Do you bake your cakes in house?
At Janey B’s we bake everything in house; cakes, desserts, treats, all of our dips, sauces and dinners.
Can you personalise/design a cake for me?
We can try our very best! Bring your ideas and designs with you (photos, etc.) and we can discuss possible options with you.
